Our Cost Management team are looking for a Senior Cost Consultant - Mechanical and Electrical based out of our office in Toronto to join us in November 2021. 

Your Day to Day

  • Produce mechanical and electrical cost estimates independently;
  • Read, measure, and price mechanical and electrical work based on CIQS requirement;
  • Price change orders;
  • Knowledgeable in and understands requirements for plumbing and drainage, fire protection, HVAC, and Controls;
  • Lead coordination, value engineering, and cost control meetings
  • Collaborate with other estimators and work with suppliers, contractors, consultants, and clients on a regular basis
  • Understands electrical & control requirements for services and distribution, lighting devices and heating, and Systems and Ancillaries;
  • Provide cost estimates for Building Services Site work;
  • Have knowledge of current Canadian market mechanical and electrical pricing;  
  • Assisting with continuous business development activities;
  • Supporting with the preparation of proposals;
  • Networking regularly to promote the business, cross-selling and building new client relationships;

  Skills and Expertise

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience;
  • University degree or equivalent; Architectural Building Technology (ABT), Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical)
  • Achievement of PQS/CEC/MRICS membership or willingness to obtain considered an asset;
  • Proven strategic thinker with excellent communication skills
  • Basic BIM, Planswift/Cost X measurement;
  • Basic Microsoft excel and words
  • Passion for business development and managing client relationships.
  • A combination of both education and experience will be considered
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
